Working with communities is an integral part of BFD programs. It is the essence of BFD principle for its work in development to use Buddhist principles of self-responsibility and self-action to enhance community life and welfare. To this end BFD encourages facilitates and support the development of community action and community frameworks to address all aspects of community growth.
Two major initiatives used are:
Initiating and supporting Volunteer Networks that introduce sustainable community resources for independent operation of social welfare and family support mechanisms at the local level.
Mobile Media Vans for information, entertainment, social and health education messages for village communities including Cadastral Law, Domestic Violation, Human Rights Violation, Gender, Election, Conflict
